Business Co-Op

GreenTown Los Altos is forming a buying co-op to help local small businesses switch to environmentally-preferable products at affordable prices. First, we’re focusing on restaurants. We’re asking them to eliminate the use of Styrofoam and non-recyclable plastic for their take-out packaging and we’re encouraging #1 or #2 plastics and biodegradable paperboard products.

We also provide information and resources to help small businesses become certified as Bay Area Green Businesses, and to help them save water and energy.

Our goal is to launch the membership co-op by December 2009. Currently we are doing research and beta review with suppliers and vendors.
