Part-Time Executive Director
The non-profit GreenTown Los Altos seeks a dynamic part-time Executive Director to help promote sustainability and environmental stewardship in our community, located in the heart of the Silicon Valley in northern California.  With almost 200 volunteers, $150,000+- budget, and a proven track record in advancing environmental causes, GreenTown Los Altos is poised to have a significant impact on our local environment. We seek a part-time ED who can help us take advantage of our vast potential and aid us in developing and managing our vision, our volunteer base and our fundraising efforts. We are looking for a candidate with the following skills:

  • Passion for protecting and preserving our environment. Demonstrated interest a broad range of environmental issues related to climate change, energy efficiency, waste, water, green building, smart growth, etc. preferred.   
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in non-profit or volunteer organization management.   
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with people at many levels included elected officials, city staff, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Experience cultivating relationships and key partnerships with donors, sponsors, and funding agencies. Proven success in non-profit fundraising preferred. 
  • Ability to work well with and inspire trust from volunteers, city staff, business partners, organizations, individual donors, funders, and the community at large.
  • Experience building and managing a volunteer-based organization with a focus on the environment, education and grassroots advocacy preferred.
  • Ability to simultaneously hold long-term strategic vision with day to day needs of operation. 
  • Experienced in goal setting and tracking progress toward goals; with a focus on demonstrating measurable impacts.
  • Financial literacy.
