Freestyle Academy Graduate, Ellie Vanderlip, Wins in Bay Area Film Festival.

Freestyle Academy graduate, Ellie Vanderlip, presented her documentary, The Human Motor, at the June GreenTown Community Meeting and Social, held at Neutra House.  The short film focused on the genesis of Critical Mass — a monthly group bicycle ride that started in the early 1990s in San Francisco, and has since spread to more than 300 cities.  In the film, Ellie interviewed the founders and early participants of San Francisco Critical Mass and explored political motivations and challenges that the culture has faced.  The film won first place in the Bay Area Social Issues Documentary Film Festival in the flex category.  Ellie heads to University of San Francisco in the Fall to study film.
